About the Role
Responsibilities
Database Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Implement and optimize database schemas, tables, and indexes.
ETL Processes:
• Build and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to integrate data from various sources into a unified data warehouse.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL pipeline.
Data Modeling:
• Develop and implement data models that align with business requirements.
• Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to design effective data structures.
SQL Development:
• Write complex SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting purposes.
• Optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
Data Integration:
• Integrate data from different systems and sources to provide a unified view of information.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data solutions in software applications.
Version Control:
• Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage and track changes in data-related code and configurations.
Performance Optimization:
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data processes.
• Work on optimizing data storage and access for scalability.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience (2+ years) in data engineering or a related role.
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and familiarity with relevant data processing frameworks.
Experience with data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide a team of data developers.
Knowledge of ETL processes, data integration, and data quality best practices.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated data services.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
